Papers Submission:

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts for review, which must be written in English and must be received by August 7th, 2017 with the Submission section in this web site.

The extended abstracts should not exceed two A4 pages with 25mm margins on all sides, in one column format, and with 10-point fonts or larger. Please include the title, author names, affiliations, and addresses on the top of the first page of the extended abstract. They should be prepared in PDF format.

Authors whose extended abstracts are accepted with the review will be notified by September 10th, 2017. The accepted authors are requested to submit manuscripts of SSS'17 proceedings by October 25th, 2017. They should be in PDF format and submitted with the Submission section in this web site.

The proceeding manuscripts, including both text and illustrations, should not exceed ten pages or about 7500 words in two columns format and should be prepared in accordance with the instructions and the templates available in the Submission section in this web site. To assure high-quality of the proceedings, all the manuscripts will be reviewed and only accepted ones will be included in the proceedings. For the policy of the copyright, please refer the following section.

Policy on Copyright of SSS Proceedings:

Beginning with the SSS'14, the SSS Proceedings are now available at the online electronic journal site JStage (Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic). With the author's agreement, the papers in the Proceedings will be registered to the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) system and opened to the public on the web. According to this system, papers in the Proceedings will be officially published works with the copyright, and we need Copyright Transfer from all of the authors who submit their papers. Also, each paper should be the original work of the author(s) and not yet published in any media with the copyright.

Award:

The young researchers who recognized excellent presentation at this symposium will be presented to the SSS Young Author Prize or the ISCIE award. For the SSS Young Author Prize, the presenter must be less than 35 years of age at the time of symposium. For the ISCIE award, the presenter must be a member of ISCIE and must be less than 30 years of age if the affiliation of the presenter is an academic or less than 35 years of age if the affiliation of the presenter is not an academic, at the time of symposium.

Special Lecture:

Dr. Takehiro Moriya, NTT Fellow, who received the Japanese medal of honor with purple ribbon in 2010 will give a special lecture on November 3.

Special Sessions:

Proposals for organized sessions are welcome and should be submitted to the secretary of Program & Steering Committee by July 31, 2016.

Special Issue of the Transactions of the ISCIE:

SSS'17 special issue of the transaction of the ISCIE is planed next year. Further information will be notified to authors who present their papers at SSS'17.
